THE VINTAGE CARAVAN (Iceland, Nuclear Blast) – stoner, blues rock, hard rock
The Vintage Caravan has been with us since 2005. Interestingly, its members were then 11 years old! The group breaks the musical stereotypes associated with Iceland, mainly associated with melancholy filled with sadness, colored sound of acoustic guitar, creating fresh numbers, in which there is no shortage of the blues rock climate and which enchant the listener with solo parts. A breakthrough in their career was released in 2012 album “Voyage”, which not only gained the hearts of critics, but also the attention of the label as big as Nuclear Blast, which in turn resulted in a contract and released after three years under the wings of Nuclear Blast album “Arrival “.
As it turned out, the die-hard fan of the band’s work Joey Tempest from Europe, who offered them a place as a support on the European concert tour of the legendary Swedish group. This route resulted in a significant increase in popularity on our continent – though not only; Today, The Vintage Caravan plays concerts around the world and appears on the most known music festivals. On August 31st, the musicians released the album “Gateways”, which they describe as “the most mature in their output”. An interesting fact may be that this material has been registered in the legendary Sundlaugin studio, which belongs to Sigur Ros itself, while Ian Davenport, known for his collaboration with Band Of Skulls and Gaz Coombes, is responsible for production.
